In reply to bacon. Thanks! I guess I've worked for so many years in the criminal justice system and have tried many cases before juries myself. It's important to remember also, that Florida has one of the "self defense" statutes that is most favorable to the person claiming self defense. As we saw in the verdict, the jury must have decided that the prosecution was unable to provide enough evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Mr. Zimmerman did not act in self defense.
